The implants will be placed into your jawbone during the first surgery. A temporary denture can be worn two to three weeks after this initial surgery.
After the gums and bone heal completely four to six months after the first surgery, a second surgery will be scheduled. This surgery will involve a small incision in the gums to expose the implant tips. A cap is placed on each implant to guide the gums to heal in a specific shape.
Once the gums have healed, the caps will be replaced with regular abutments and dentures will be realigned to fit the implants.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
